P. joepii ("YOH-pee-aye") is one of the newest species discovered, having been known to science only since 1991, when it was discovered in  the Mataroni River Valley in French Guaiana by Dutch botanist Joep Moonen, after whom it is named.   This bizarre-looking species has deeply-lobed leaves with extended petioles, resembling what we might think of as a charicature of a Philodendron!  It's a vigorous and speedy grower, producing enormous leaves as it matures.  Provide it with warm conditions and a bit of extra humidity for best growth, and be prepared to pot it up, as it grows rapidly!
