This unique trailing succulent hails from the southern tip of the African continent, where it enjoys sunny conditions, trailing along the ground with its strings of leaves that resemble green peas!  Though it flowers occasionally when truly happy, String of Pearls is most famous for its foliage, adding texture and character to any collection.  Pot String of Pearls in a loose, well-draining succulent mix and give it a little extra space for the roots to expand.  Rather than drenching it, just moisten the plant occasionally with a gentle sprinkle of water once a week or so in spring and summer, and a little less in fall and winter months.  Definitely avoid letting the soil become wet and saturated, as this can cause root rot.  We ship large plants with many "strings", in 6 inch pots.
