Sundews (genus Drosera) represent one of the most widely distributed groups of carnivorous plants in the world. Found from the tropics to near the Arctic Circle, their amazing “fly paper “leaves trap small insects with droplets of glistening due, then use their tentacles to fold them over and digest them, providing supplemental food for the plant, which grows in nutrient-poor soil. D. spathulata is a native US species, easy for the beginner carnivorous plant enthusiast!
